Local jurisdictions in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC are joining forces to address fair housing issues in the region. The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and eight local government partners have launched a survey to collect feedback from residents about their experiences with fair housing and finding a place to live. Data from the survey will go toward a Regional Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice, which will help the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ensure that everyone in and around DC has a chance to live in a safe and affordable home!

The survey is anonymous and takes just three minutes to complete. Do you part to advance fair housing in the region and take the survey now! It is also available in Spanish here.

Eight local governments are partnering with the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) to prepare a Regional Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (Regional Housing Equity Plan). The jurisdictions are required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to affirmatively further fair housing. The Regional Fair Housing Plan will fulfill this HUD requirement and aims to increase collaboration, innovation, and effectiveness of strategies to affirmatively further fair housing throughout the metropolitan area. It is expected to be completed in 2022.Flyer text reads: Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.Estimados residentes: jQueremos escuchar lo que piensan sobre las opciones de vivienda en nuestra comunidad!
