ERC sued the fast food chain Subway, alleging that its D.C. restaurants were not accessible to people using wheelchairs. The suit alleged that doors at Subway locations were too narrow, bathrooms were inaccessible, and obstacles prevented wheelchair users from ordering and dining inside. In settling the case, Subway agreed to make changes to more than fifty of their D.C. area locations and revise restaurant policies to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act for existing and future restaurants.
