In 2009, the ERC was approached by several individuals who reported barriers to accessibility at CVS stores. Following an investigation, the ERC sued the pharmacy chain, and eventually reached a settlement agreement. CVS agreed to new procedures to keep store aisles clear and accessible, and committed to equipping every single location with wheelchair-accessible front and pharmacy counters within a year.
