Do you live in the Baltimore metropolitan area (including Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, Hartford County, and Howard County)? Take this survey to tell local leaders about your housing needs and experiences living in the region!

A coalition of local governments and housing authorities are working together with the Baltimore Metropolitan Council to identify barriers to fair housing across the region. Your survey answers will help inform the region’s plan to ensure everyone can access safe, affordable housing in their neighborhood of choice.

The survey is available in English and Spanish. The survey is confidential and will take about 10 minutes to complete. Participants will have the chance to win a $100 gift card!

If you have a housing voucher and would be willing to share more about your experience trying to find housing, email hello@rootpolicy.org to join a focus group. The group will help ensure the final plan appropriately addresses the needs of individuals with housing vouchers.

The Equal Rights Center (ERC) — a national non-profit organization — is a civil rights organization that identifies and seeks to eliminate unlawful and unfair discrimination in housing, employment and public accommodations in its home community of Greater Washington DC and nationwide. The ERC’s core strategy for identifying unlawful and unfair discrimination is civil rights testing. When the ERC identifies discrimination, it seeks to eliminate it through the use of testing data to educate the public and business community, support policy advocacy, conduct compliance testing and training, and, if necessary, take enforcement action.
