M elvina is responsible for overall organizational management, including strategic and financial planning, development and communications, human resources, and mission driven programming. Prior to joining the ERC, she served as a presidential political appointee at the U.S. Department of Labor providing policy counsel on enforcement and regulatory issues to the Acting Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division. During her tenure, she also temporarily acted for the Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Office of Policy, where she managed the Department’s regulatory agenda, advised the Acting Secretary on policy issues, and coordinated with the Executive Office of the President and other federal agencies. Prior to her political appointment, Melvina served as the Executive Director of the Employment Justice Center and also litigated with an emphasis on labor and employment law as an associate at the law firm of Tydings & Rosenberg LLP. Melvina graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center.
